Is concerts, festivals and major events the right trip for your group?

This is for groups whose dates are fixed by something happening in town. All four homes work, with the two Scottsdale houses closest to the metro's larger venues and the two Montana homes suited to valley events. Event weekends cluster in winter and spring in Arizona and in summer in Montana. One practical constraint: event weekends raise rates and minimum stays across a whole metro or valley, and road closures are the usual surprise. Event weekends move rates and minimum stays across a whole metro or valley, not just the blocks nearest the venue. If the event is the point of the trip, book early and treat the published minimum stay as firm; if it is not, the weekends either side are usually quieter for the same weather.

Dates move every year, so we do not republish them. Each destination's event page links the official calendars — Experience Scottsdale and the City of Scottsdale in Arizona, Discover Kalispell, Explore Whitefish and the Bigfork chamber in Montana — and those are the pages to trust.

Road closures and parking restrictions are the usual surprise. Check the city or town's own page for the weekend you are actually here.

How event weekends change the booking

When a major event is in town, minimum stays and demand rise across the whole metro or valley, not only near the venue. Lock in the house as soon as the dates are confirmed by the organizer, and treat the published minimum stay as firm. Before you commit, read the event's official page for gate times, bag policies and re-entry rules, because those decide how the group's day runs.

Getting a group to and from the venue

Plan the exit before the entry. Large venues release thousands of people at once, and ride-share pick-up zones get congested. Agree a meeting point, decide in advance who is driving, and check the city or venue page for parking and road closures on that date.

Splitting the group by plan helps: those going to the event leave together, and those staying at the house keep dinner going for the late return.

A sample event day

Keep the house as the base and the event as the one fixed point:

  • Morning: slow start at the house, a big late breakfast, and a check of the organizer's page for gate times and bag rules.
  • Afternoon: leave together in as few vehicles as practical, or book ride-share early.
  • Evening: a set meeting point for the exit, then back to the house for a late dinner and the hot tub.

As soon as the organizer confirms the dates. Demand and minimum stays rise across the area on big weekends.
