Which home suits a play-focused trip

The Sunkiss is the one with on-site play: a sport court set up for pickleball and basketball, plus a putting green, private pool and hot tub. A group can play a match before breakfast without anyone driving. The Scottsdale Social has no on-site pickleball court; its backyard has a putting green, lawn games, a private pool and hot tub, with more than fifteen games indoors, and groups book courts offsite.

For golf, both homes work as a base: book tee times directly with each course, and use the house putting green for warm-ups and rematches.

A sample golf-and-pickleball day

Scottsdale days are shaped by heat more than by distance:

• Early tee time or first court session at sunrise.
• Late morning: back to the house, pool and lunch in.
• Hottest hours: shade, hot tub later, nobody out on a court.
• Late afternoon: a lighter second session or putting contest, then dinner at home or in Old Town.

Splitting the group

Golf groups often travel as foursomes. At The Sunkiss, four king bedrooms suit four pairs, and the bunk room with two full-over-full bunks takes the rest of a group of up to 16. At The Scottsdale Social, three king bedrooms, a two-queen room and a bunk room with two full-over-full bunks sleep up to 18, and the driveway has parking for four cars.

Seasons and booking

Peak golf season runs through the cooler months, overlapping with spring training and the big event weekends, so tee times and the houses book early. Fall and late spring are easier to schedule. In summer, play at first light and keep the afternoon for the pool. Pool heat at The Sunkiss is optional; confirm terms on its booking page.
