October is the month Scottsdale starts feeling like the reason people book Scottsdale. Mornings are comfortable enough for an early tee time or a court session before lunch, and the metro's two big football tenants are both at home more than once, so a group can build a long weekend around a published kickoff instead of guessing.
For a group trip the practical question is which weekend to take. Arizona State plays three home Saturdays this month in Tempe, and several of those kickoff times were still listed as to-be-announced when we last read the schedule — so if your travel depends on an evening versus an afternoon start, open the official page before you commit to flights. The Cardinals play two Sunday home games in Glendale, which pair naturally with a Saturday college game for a two-game weekend.
