The Tamarack, Lakeside
The Tamarack sits above Flathead Lake in Lakeside, with six bedrooms, nine beds and 4.5 baths, plus flexible sleeping arrangements and additional bed options. Permitted overnight occupancy is limited to 10, so it suits a group of up to 10 that wants room to spread out. The private hot tub and sauna, fire pit and game room keep evenings at the house. Backyard games include axe throwing and bocce. It is dog-friendly with a pet fee. No parties; neighborhood quiet hours apply.
Lakeside is on the west side of the lake. FWP's West Shore unit of Flathead Lake State Park is 6 miles south of Lakeside on U.S. Highway 93, with a swimming shoreline and a deep-water boat launch.
The Evergreen, Somers
The Evergreen is a six-bedroom, 3.5-bath home in Somers. The primary suite has a king bed and en-suite bath, four rooms have queen beds (one with two queens), and there is a bunk room. The private hot tub and barrel sauna are on the deck. Inside are a private speakeasy and a game room, and an open kitchen with island seating and a long dining table for group dinners. The driveway takes three vehicles plus a trailer, so groups can tow their own boat and launch at a public ramp or marina. No parties or events, no smoking, quiet after 10 p.m.
Somers is at the north end of the lake, home to FWP's Somers Beach State Park, a day-use park with a wide sandy beach when the lake is below full pool, from fall through spring.
Which home fits your group?
- Up to 10 guests, bringing the dog: The Tamarack. Occupancy is capped at 10 and dogs are welcome with a fee.
- Towing a boat, or want a speakeasy night: The Evergreen. The driveway fits a trailer, and the speakeasy is unique to this house.
- Two families or a large reunion: book both. They are separate homes with separate calendars, so check both for your dates.
Looking for Flathead Lake cabins?
These are full houses, not cabins. Both homes have six bedrooms, a full kitchen and a game room, built for a group staying several nights together.

Getting on the lake from either home
Neither home has private lake access, so plan around public sites. Montana FWP runs five mainland units of Flathead Lake State Park around the lake, plus Wild Horse Island, a boat-in day-use park. Two rules to know before you go:
- Boats and paddlecraft must stop at mandatory watercraft inspection stations (FWP aquatic invasive species).
- The southern half of the lake is on the Flathead Indian Reservation. FWP says recreation on tribal land outside the state parks requires a tribal recreation permit, and fishing the southern half requires a tribal fishing license (FWP).
